The building is of 500 m2 and can host 500 people. The materials used for the construction was stone, wood and iron. Museum exhibits preserved at its northern side create an atmospheric setting for conferences, as well as for high-quality cultural events.
Underground spaces are also available in LTCP and can be arranged so as to host technical sessions for up to 60 people.
Lavrion Technical Visits
The Lavrion Technological and Cultural Park (LTCP) site includes the Lavrion Underground Hazardous Waste Repository.
The repository is designed to store hazardous waste with high concentrations of heavy metals and toxic metalloids, under low overburden using the room and pillar mining technique. Access to the repository is done through a 170m tunnel and a 35m deep shaft. The technical visit will continue with a tour of the LTCP culture and technology center that is cited where the old “French Company of Lavrion Mines” facilities used to be.
At the end of the technical sessions and tours, delegates will have the opportunity to visit Cape Sounion and the temple of Poseidon, enjoying one of the world’s most marvelous sunset views, having the ancient temple as a backdrop and facing the deep blue sea.
