Oral Presentations

Each oral presentation is allocated with a total of 20 minute slot (15 minutes for the presentation, plus 5 minutes of discussion/Q&A). Presenters are kindly requested to prepare their presentation accordingly and to observe the time allotted, to ensure the smooth running of the conference programme.

On the day of the oral presentation there will be a Speaker’s Introduction Session from 8.00-8.30. This will take place in the Speaker’s Room. At the Introduction Session the speakers will meet the session chair(s) of their technical session, the other speakers and they will be given the final practical details regarding their presentation. Note that following the ITA guidelines over-running presentations will be cut off.

Presentation files, in MS Powerpoint format, should be delivered to the Speaker Ready Room in the day before the session, to ensure there is sufficient time to check and make any adjustments to the files. Speakers are also requested to prepare a brief bio note (MS Word format) for their introduction.

Please note that for the case of oral presentations, the author should be physically present in the conference to deliver his/her speech

e-Posters

e-Posters will be available throughout Conference dates in one of the e-Poster stations in the venue, the mobile application and in the virtual attendance platform.

Authors who will be physically present in Athens will be requested to be present in the e-posters area to answer questions about their posters at designated dates and times.

E-poster presenters may also optionally upload a 5-minute video presentation of their poster. The video should have a minimum quality of 720p.

Accepted e-poster presenters have already been requested to submit their e-Poster file during their notification of acceptance. Each e-poster presenter, regardless of whether s/he is attending virtually or physically, should prepare an electronic file of her/is poster in horizontal (landscape) orientation by May 1st.

The e-Poster files should be in PDF format and have a maximum size of 8 MB. The PDF files should display the posters as if those were printed for in-person presentation.

Below are some useful tips you may want to pay attention to when presenting in front of a camera:

  • Use a soft light source from the front. Cameras capture better-looking video when there is a good light source. Try to avoid locations with low light or too much backlighting.
  • Mind your webcam placement. Some camera angles can exaggerate your facial features and distort your appearance. Make sure that the camera lens sits at or above eye level, no higher than your hairline.
  • Prefer a laptop computer, if possible, otherwise the fan noise may distort your audio.
  • Use a USB microphone. Even a low-cost microphone offers better audio quality than a laptop’s built-in mic.
  • Mind your surroundings and inform people not to enter the recording room.
